The
bride leads the dance. This is the custom in Greece where weddings take
place for hours on end, even up to a whole week of celebrations. This
takes place especially in the villages.

The
black and white doll is on a basket. Helena would make dolls as presents
and give them to the brides on their weddings.

Those dolls were
first exhibited in Paris, France between 1945 -48. The theme here is that
the bride leads the dance. They are Greek dolls showing off their costumes
of origin from the different 'states' of Greece. |

Helena used the
puppets to show all the action
and devastation of the battlefield.

This
one is called "The Hidden School". When Greece was occupied
under Turkey, the Greek priest would teach the young Greek boys
in caves of their Greek language so they wouldn't forget . |
